Blood Drive - Thank you to all those that participated in the blood drive. Community Blood Services were impressed by not only the number of volunteers, but the number of first time donors!!
Snack Stand -
Our official grand opening was after the baseball/softball opening day
ceremonies.
Lincoln Park PAL Presidents Message 4/24/10: About two
years ago I walked into the old PAL snack stand to find no electricity,
gas or water. Apparently our utilities were routed from the old
municipal complex and were accidently disconnected. Sports, such as
football, baseball/softball and soccer all use the proceeds from the snack
stand to offset operating costs of the programs and keep registration fees
affordable. This is what led the PAL board to start discussions on
building a new snack stand that also included bathrooms. John
Singeltary put us in touch with the Ronald McDonald House Charities where
we applied for and were approved for a grant. At the time, Paul
Canfora was President and Andy Schuckers was Vice-President. Paul
and Andy were responsible for guiding the initial process that included
applying for the grant and meeting with the architect for building plans.
We approached the Mayor and Town Council about the project and they were
all very supportive of our plans. After the initial ground breaking,
Paul & Andy's board term expired and the new board took over. Thank
you to Paul and Andy for all the time put in guiding the initial phase of
the project. PAL Director Jim Herbek called on area contractors to help in
various stages of the building. Here we are, 10 months after initial
ground breaking with a new snack stand, upstairs storage and bathrooms.
When you look at the building, you probably see concrete, siding, windows
and a roof. But if you look closer, you can see the hard work and
dedication of people in our community who came together to help build a
facility for the boys and girls of Lincoln Park. When you see this
support, it is easy to understand why Lincoln Park is one of the top five
places to live in New Jersey! The
Lincoln Park PAL Board would like to thank the following individuals and
businesses for their support in this project: [CLICK HERE]

Teen Center - We have applied and been approved for a grant from the NJ PAL. We are looking at collaborating with the town and creating a "teen center" in the PAL Community Center. Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y. Clinic - The Lincoln Park PAL requires all coaches attend the Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y (Sports Awareness for Educating Today's Youth) clinic. In accordance with the stipulations in the Little League Law, the Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y. Clinic:
helps coaches minimize the risk of injury to young athletes
provides information about fundamental coaching concepts which enhances volunteer coaches' effectiveness
protects volunteer coaches from civil lawsuits
We hold classes periodically during the year at the PAL and coaches are also able to take the class at other locations throughout the year.
